Monroe County officials today showed off the still-under-construction new crime laboratory, a state-of-the-art $30 million facility that is expected to improve analysis of criminal evidence and reduce a backlog of cases.

…Authorities should have an easier time responding to future threats. Last month, the state opened the Wyoming Combined Lab Facility, an ultra-modern space for testing everything from disease samples to a defendant’s DNA. The $45 million building, located on the outskirts of Cheyenne, houses laboratories for the Department of Health, the Department of Environmental Quality and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.
